Author/Education Consultant/Social Entrepreneur

Yejide Christianah Akiode, a graduate of the renowned Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is an ardent and dynamic trainer and speaker. She is an Education Consultant of many years training and experience. She currently serves as the Managing Consultant of I-excel Consulting – an education consulting outfit – and is the initiator of the award-winning Young Minds Empowerment Initiative (YMEI), a non-profit and non-governmental organization established in 2006.

Yejide started YMEI during her participation in the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) in Sapele, Delta State and has since used every avenue to reach out to young people. During her National Youth service, she volunteered as a peer educator on the UNICEF/NYSC project where she trained secondary school students on HIV/AIDS as well as Adolescent reproductive health issues. She was further nominated to serve as an Orientation trainer where she trained Corp Members at Orientation Camps at Issele-Uku (Delta State) and Sagamu (Ogun State) respectively.

By virtue of her consistency and dedication to youths, Yejide under the platform of YMEI barged an award from a leading and prestigious non-governmental organization called LEAP AFRICA in November 2009 in recognition of her contribution to community and people development. She is also a recipient of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 women entrepreneurs' initiative with a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management from the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos.

She is the Author of 'Beyond Classroom Walls book and workbook' and the editor-in-chief of the company's FREE termly newsletter on International education - 'R.E.A.D'. She is married to 'Toyin Ezekiel and they are blessed with a very handsome Son – Oluwaseyitan Daniel Akiode.
